Tampa Theatre
Theater · Tampa, Florida
A 1926 atmospheric movie palace by John Eberson, designed so that the auditorium feels like a Mediterranean courtyard at night — statues in niches, a balcony of false facades, and a ceiling of drifting clouds and ninety-nine twinkling stars. It was scheduled for demolition in the 1970s, saved by the city, and it still runs films nightly with a Mighty Wurlitzer played before the show.
711 North Franklin Street, Tampa, Florida, 33602, United States
Screenings most evenings year-round, with matinees and special events. Guided tours run on a limited schedule and must be booked.
