The Bronx Documentary Center

Specialty Museum · Bronx, New York

A non-profit gallery and education space in a nineteenth-century building in Melrose, founded 2011, showing DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM — international photojournalism alongside work made in the Bronx by Bronx photographers. ⚠ IT IS FREE, it runs an extensive free education programme for young people in the neighbourhood, and it is one of the best small exhibition spaces in New York City.

614 Courtlandt Avenue, Bronx, New York, 10451, United States

⚠ FREE — the Bronx Documentary Center charges no admission, and its talks and screenings are generally free. ⚠ CHECK THE OPENING HOURS AND THE CURRENT EXHIBITION BEFORE TRAVELLING: it is a small non-profit with a limited schedule and ONE GALLERY, so the current show is the entire offer. ⚠ CHECK THE EVENTS CALENDAR — talks and screenings with the photographers are the best of what the Center does. ⚠ SOME EXHIBITIONS COVER CONFLICT AND VIOLENCE DIRECTLY, as documentary photojournalism does. ⚠ HOURS NOT VERIFIED FOR THIS FILE.
