The Frick Collection
Art Museum · New York, New York
Henry Clay Frick's Fifth Avenue mansion of 1914, left with its contents to the public and opened as a museum in 1935 — around 1,500 works of European art from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century, hung in the rooms of the house rather than in galleries. It REOPENED IN APRIL 2025 after a four-year Selldorf renovation, and the family's second-floor private quarters are now open to the public for the first time.
