The only accredited zoo in the world devoted entirely to deserts, spread across 1,200 acres of the Coachella Valley. Animals and plants are grouped by the desert they come from — the African Sahara and Horn of Africa on one side, North American deserts on the other — and a large rhino savanna opened in 2022.
