The Wild Center

Natural History · Tupper Lake, New York

A natural history museum of the Adirondacks on 115 acres at Tupper Lake, opened in 2006, built around live animals, a river otter tank and an argument that this is a landscape where six million acres of wilderness and 130,000 residents share the same ground. Its WILD WALK, added in 2015, is an elevated trail of bridges and platforms rising into the forest canopy and ending in a four-storey bald eagle's nest.
