The Wilds

Safari Park · Cumberland, Ohio

Nearly ten thousand acres of reclaimed strip-mined coal land in southeastern Ohio, given over to open-range conservation and now one of the largest such centres in North America. Rhinos, giraffes and Przewalski's horses range across grassland that was industrial spoil forty years ago, and you see them from a bus rather than across a moat.

14000 International Road, Cumberland, Ohio, 43732, United States

SEASONAL — open roughly May to October and closed for the winter. Tours must be booked in advance and are the only way in. Open-air safaris are weather-dependent and sell out.
