Tillamook Creamery

Working Farm · Tillamook, Oregon

The visitor centre of the Tillamook County Creamery Association, a farmer-owned dairy cooperative founded in 1909 and now one of the largest dairy processors in the United States. The building north of Tillamook takes over a million visitors a year - more than most Oregon national park units - who come to look down on the cheese production line from a glazed mezzanine, eat ice cream, and buy cheese curds. It is unashamedly a factory tour with a shop attached, and it is very good at it.

4165 Oregon Coast Highway, Tillamook, Oregon, 97141, United States

FREE and open daily year round, generally from mid-morning to late afternoon with extended summer hours, closed Christmas Day. There is no admission and cheese sampling is included; parking is free. ⚠ THE CHEESE PRODUCTION LINE DOES NOT RUN AT WEEKENDS OR ON HOLIDAYS - on those days the viewing mezzanine looks down on a stationary factory. Come on a weekday if watching the line is the point. The building takes over a million visitors a year and the car park and ice cream queue fill by midday in summer.
