Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disneyland (1983) And Tokyo DisneySea (2001), Operated By The Oriental Land Company Under Licence · Urayasu, Chiba
A two-park Disney resort on reclaimed land at Maihama on Tokyo Bay, in Urayasu city in Chiba, about fifteen minutes by train from Tokyo station. It is owned and run by the Oriental Land Company under licence from Disney, which is why its standards of upkeep, food and staff courtesy are often rated the highest of any Disney park. Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983 as the first Disney park outside the United States and follows the classic castle layout, with Cinderella Castle at its centre, Space Mountain being rebuilt and a daytime parade and the nightly Electrical Parade Dreamlights. Tokyo DisneySea, opened in 2001, exists nowhere else: a park built around the sea, with Mount Prometheus, a steaming volcano, above a Mediterranean harbour, and themed ports from Arabian Coast to Mysterious Island. Its newest port, Fantasy Springs, opened in 2024 with Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan rides and its own hotel. Tickets are dated and priced by demand, waits are managed through the official app, and a monorail loops round the resort's hotels and stations.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: both parks open around 8 or 9 am and close around 9 pm, every day of the year, with hours varying by date and published about a month ahead. Entry ends shortly before closing, and the night parade and shows mark the end of the day. Traps: gates open earlier than the official time on busy days, so arriving on time puts you in a long queue; popular Premier Access rides sell out by midday; tickets sell out on weekends; typhoons can close the parks. Confirm hours and tickets before relying on them.
