Tulsa Botanic Garden
Tulsa Botanic Garden; 170 Acres Opened In Stages From 2015 · Tulsa, Oklahoma
A 170-acre garden in the Osage hills north-west of downtown Tulsa, opened in stages since 2015 on land that was once a quarry and ranch, with about thirty acres developed and the rest kept as native woodland and prairie. The A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Floral Terraces step down a hillside in a series of walled beds and water features, the Lakeside Promenade runs along a small lake, the Children's Discovery Garden has a treehouse and stream play, and native plant collections show what actually thrives in Oklahoma's heat and clay. The garden is best known for Botanic Blooms, a display of hundreds of thousands of tulips and daffodils in late March and April, and for Botanic Garden of Lights in winter. Trails run into the undeveloped hills for birdwatching.
