Tyler Municipal Rose Garden
Formal Garden · Tyler, Texas
Fourteen acres of roses in East Texas, generally described as the largest rose garden in the United States, holding tens of thousands of bushes across hundreds of varieties in a city that once grew a substantial share of America's commercial rose crop. It is free, it is open every day, and in October the whole town builds a festival around it.

⚠ THE GARDEN IS FREE AND OPEN DAILY with nothing to book. ⚠ THE ROSE GARDEN CENTER AND MUSEUM MAY KEEP SEPARATE HOURS AND CHARGE A SMALL ADMISSION — I could not verify either; check with the City of Tyler. ⚠ TWO BLOOM PEAKS: late April-May is the bigger flush, but OCTOBER often has better colour because the nights are cooler, and the Texas Rose Festival runs then. ⚠ Avoid July and August — hot, thin and between flushes. Book accommodation well ahead for festival weekend.
