Umpqua River Light
Lighthouse · Winchester Bay, Oregon
A lighthouse at the mouth of the Umpqua River on Winchester Bay in Douglas County, on the central Oregon coast. It is unusual among Oregon lights for its lens, which throws red and white flashes rather than a single colour, and the pattern is visible on the surrounding trees and fog on a dark night. It stands beside Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, with a whale-watching platform on the headland and the Oregon Dunes running north from the river mouth.

The grounds and the viewpoint are open during daylight hours and are FREE. ⚠ TOWER TOURS ARE SEASONAL AND TICKETED, generally running in the warmer months and not at all in winter, and they are the only way inside - check before travelling if going up the tower is the point. The adjacent whale-watching platform is open year-round and free. It sits within Umpqua Lighthouse State Park at Winchester Bay.
