An Essex-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1943, berthed at the former Alameda Naval Air Station, and the ship that recovered the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 crews from the Pacific. The quarantine trailer Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins sat in is aboard, and so is the spot on the hangar deck where Nixon spoke to them through the glass.
