Utah Olympic Park
Olympic Venue · Park City, Utah
The bobsleigh, luge, skeleton and ski-jumping venue built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, in the hills above Park City, and still a working training centre for national teams rather than a retired monument. The grounds and the two museums — the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum — are free. What is not free, and what most visitors come for, is riding the bobsleigh track with a professional pilot, which runs in both winter and summer.
3419 Olympic Parkway, Park City, Utah, 84098, United States
⚠ THE GROUNDS AND BOTH MUSEUMS — the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum — ARE FREE, with free parking, and you can watch national teams training on the jumps and the track at no charge. THE ACTIVITIES ARE SEPARATELY TICKETED AND EXPENSIVE: the bobsleigh ride with a professional pilot is the flagship and commonly runs well over $100 per person, running on ice in winter and on wheels in summer as two different products. ⚠ IT BOOKS OUT AND CARRIES STRICT AGE, HEIGHT AND HEALTH RESTRICTIONS — book online in advance and read the requirements before paying. Zip lines, ropes courses and an alpine slide operate in summer. ⚠ CHECK THE TRAINING AND EVENT CALENDAR BEFORE TRAVELLING; an empty venue on a closed day is a much thinner visit, and free viewing areas may be reduced on competition days.
