Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site
Manor · Hyde Park, New York
A fifty-four-room Beaux-Arts country house built for Frederick and Louise Vanderbilt between 1896 and 1899 by McKim, Mead and White, on a Hudson bluff at Hyde Park. It is the smallest of the great Vanderbilt houses and the most complete — the interiors, the furniture and the imported European rooms are essentially as the family left them, because a niece gave it to the nation intact in 1940 when nobody would buy it.
119 Vanderbilt Park Road, Hyde Park, New York, 12538, United States
GROUNDS, ITALIAN GARDENS AND THE BLUFF ARE FREE and open dawn to dusk, year round. THE HOUSE IS GUIDED-TOUR-ONLY, timed and capped, generally open daily with a reduced winter schedule and closures on major holidays. Tours sell out on autumn weekends. ⚠ HOURS, FEES AND TOUR TIMES WERE NOT VERIFIED FOR THIS FILE — confirm on nps.gov/vama.
