Walibi Belgium

Belgium'S Largest Thrill Ride Park, With Kondaa, One Of Europe'S Taller Coasters, And The Aqualibi Water Park Next Door · Wavre, Walloon Brabant Province

Walibi Belgium is the country's largest thrill-ride park, opened in 1975 in Wavre, about 25 km south-east of Brussels beside the E411 motorway. The name is usually explained as a blend of Wavre, Limal and Bierges, the local places around the site, and the park grew from a modest leisure ground into a full theme park that now belongs, it is generally reported, to the French group Compagnie des Alpes. People come for the coasters: Kondaa, a tall hyper coaster said to have opened in 2021 and often ranked among the strongest rides in the Benelux, plus older favourites such as Vampire, Calamity Mine and the Pulsar water ride, and family rides like Tiki-Waka for younger children. Aqualibi, an indoor water park, sits next door on a separate ticket. The season runs roughly from April to early November, with a Halloween period of scare zones and later hours (confirm dates). The honest caveat: on sunny weekends and in Belgian school holidays the big-ride queues can pass an hour, food is pricey, and the park is shut all winter.

Walibi is seasonal and does not open every day. The season usually runs from about early April to early November: in spring and autumn it is often open mainly at weekends, on some weekdays and during Belgian school holidays, and daily in July and August - check the opening calendar on the official site before you travel, because closed days are common outside summer. Typical hours are roughly 10 am to 6 pm, longer on peak summer days and on Halloween evenings, when the park may stay open after dark (confirm). Aqualibi next door keeps its own schedule and needs its own ticket. Getting there: by car the park sits beside the E411 Brussels-Namur motorway, with a large paid car park at the gate. By train, the small Bierges-Walibi stop is said to be a short walk from the entrance, on the local SNCB/NMBS line through Wavre and Ottignies (confirm the service, which can be hourly or thinner at weekends). Book dated tickets online in advance: they are usually cheaper than the gate price, and the busiest days can sell out.
