A 1932 Beaux-Arts house on Van Ness, home to both San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Ballet, and the room where the United Nations Charter was signed in 1945. The Treaty of San Francisco with Japan was signed here too, which makes it the only opera house in the world to have ended a world war twice over.
