Warm Mineral Springs

The only warm mineral spring in Florida — an hourglass-shaped sinkhole about 250 feet deep at North Port, discharging roughly nine million gallons a day at a constant 85F. It is also one of the most important early archaeological sites in the Americas: human remains and artefacts around 10,000 years old have been recovered from ledges inside it, from a time when the water table was far lower and the sink was a dry cave.
