Washington State Capitol

Historic Site · Olympia, Washington

The Legislative Building in Olympia, completed in 1928, carrying what is generally described as the tallest self-supporting masonry dome in North America and among the last such domes built anywhere. It sits on a landscaped campus above Capitol Lake laid out by the Olmsted Brothers, with war memorials, a conservatory and a cherry grove. Tours are free and the building interior - Tiffany chandelier, bronze doors, marble from five countries - is more impressive than the modest visitor numbers suggest.

416 Sid Snyder Avenue SW, Olympia, Washington, 98504, United States
