Whatcom Falls Park

City Park · Bellingham, Washington

A 241-acre city park in Bellingham built around four sets of falls on Whatcom Creek, which runs from Lake Whatcom to Bellingham Bay. The 1939 WPA stone bridge over the main falls is the image the park is known by. It is a genuine neighbourhood park rather than a destination - free, unstaffed and full of dog walkers - and it holds a stone-arch bridge, a trout hatchery and several miles of forest trail within the city limits.

1401 Electric Avenue, Bellingham, Washington, 98225, United States

Open daily, dawn to 10 PM, free. There is no admission and no parking charge. The fish hatchery within the park keeps its own daytime hours. Swimming holes are unsupervised at all times and there is no lifeguard anywhere in the park.
