Whiskey Row

Nightlife District · Louisville, Kentucky

Four or five blocks of West Main Street in downtown Louisville lined with nineteenth-century cast-iron facades, which before Prohibition held the offices and warehouses of dozens of whiskey firms. The buildings sat derelict for decades, half of them nearly lost to a fire in 2015, and have been rebuilt into a run of working distilleries, bourbon bars, hotels and restaurants. Louisville has one of the largest surviving collections of cast-iron storefronts in the country, and this is where they are.

101 West Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky, 40202, United States

The street is open at all hours. Distilleries generally run tours from mid-morning to late afternoon and close by early evening; bars and restaurants run later. Sunday hours are shorter across the row and some distilleries close entirely. Book distillery tours in advance.
