Wing Luke Museum

Specialty Museum · Seattle, Washington

The only pan-Asian Pacific American community-based museum in the country, in Seattle's Chinatown-International District, and an affiliated area of the National Park Service. It occupies the 1910 East Kong Yick Building, a hotel and business block built with the pooled savings of around 170 Chinese immigrants, and the preserved upper floors - single-room lodgings, a family association hall, a shuttered shop - are shown on guided tours. Exhibitions are developed with the communities they are about rather than curated at them.

719 South King Street, Seattle, Washington, 98104, United States

Open Wednesday to Sunday in most seasons, generally 10 AM to 5 PM, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The historic hotel floors above the galleries are accessible only on a guided tour, which runs on a posted schedule and is included with admission - if that is why you are coming, check the tour times before you arrive rather than the opening hours.
