Withrow Springs State Park

Arkansas State Park On The War Eagle River In Madison County, Built Around A Large Spring Beneath A Limestone Bluff, On The Highway 23 Pig Trail Corridor. · Huntsville, Arkansas

Withrow Springs is a small Ozark park where a large spring comes out from under a limestone bluff into the War Eagle River, and the combination of bluff, spring and river is the whole of it. The War Eagle here is a float stream in spring - canoes go down to War Eagle Mill and beyond - and a set of swimming holes in summer when the water drops. There is a campground, a handful of cabins, a pool and a short trail system including a walk under the bluff itself. It sits on Highway 23, the Pig Trail, which means half its summer visitors are motorcyclists who stopped because the road delivered them here.
