Wyoming Dinosaur Center
Non Profit Museum · Thermopolis, Wyoming
A privately run dinosaur museum on the edge of Thermopolis, beside active excavation sites on the surrounding Warm Springs Ranch. Inside are many mounted skeletons, including a very long sauropod, and the Thermopolis specimen of Archaeopteryx, the famous feathered fossil that links dinosaurs and birds — billed as the only Archaeopteryx on display in North America. In summer visitors can tour the dig sites and pay to join the museum's crews for a Dig for a Day. It is five minutes from Hot Springs State Park. Dig for a Day ran from 25 May to 6 September 2026, seven days a week, and the free State Bath House at Hot Springs State Park is about five minutes away.
