Yamaska National Park

A Sepaq National Park On A Reservoir Lake Near Granby, With A Beach, A Long Cycling Path Around The Water, Canoe And Kayak Rental, A Campground And Views Over The Eastern Townships. A Relaxed Lake Park For Cycling And Paddling · Granby, Quebec

Parc national de Yamaska is a Sepaq park on the shores of a long reservoir lake just 5 km from Granby, in the rolling dairy country of the Eastern Townships, about 90 km east of Montreal (confirm distances). The lake was built to supply water, and the park grew around it with gentle shores, wooded points, marsh bays and a wide beach, so it works as a calm, uncrowded lake close to the city, with sunny days well suited to families, cyclists and first-time paddlers. A paved cycling path rings much of the water and carries families past wooded coves, while canoes, kayaks and paddle boats let visitors drift into quiet bays where herons stand in the reeds. The campground offers tents, trailers and ready-to-camp units, and trails run through maple and cedar woods with a view over the reservoir. Winter turns the park to snowshoeing, skiing and fat biking, and the quiet season has its own charm (confirm all prices and dates).

Yamaska is open year round for day use, with the full program, rentals and the beach running from about late May to early September and reduced services in spring and autumn, so confirm dates on the Sepaq site before you go. The welcome pavilion is generally open in the daytime, and campers follow check-in and check-out times set at booking (confirm). Gates may close at dusk for day visitors, and the reservation of a day pass online is often advised on summer weekends. Winter services are limited to trails and a small chalet, and the cycling path is not cleared for cars.
